In operation since 2008 Equality Focus provides high-quality specialist Non-Medical Help (NMH) support staff to enable students with a diverse range of needs to fulfil their academic potential. We additionally offer a bespoke training and consultancy service to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to help support them deliver their equality and diversity objectives and provide guidance on disability best practice.
Services
We work closely with colleagues in a broad range of universities and specialist colleges in London and nationwide to provide a personal and responsive service to meet individual student needs. We currently support students at several large London universities, including:
Our start to finish NMH support service includes the recruitment of specialist support workers, matching students with suitable support workers, oversight and quality assurance of day-to-day support, and the management of invoicing and payments.
Expertise
Our committed and flexible team of specialist mentors, tutors and practical support workers have a wealth of experience and expertise in supporting students through the academic lifecourse. Our managerial and consultancy team includes specialists with significant experience in achieving equality in the HE sector and market research and data management.
