Equality Focus offers a range of bespoke training and consultancy services that can support your institution or organisation to meet its equality and diversity goals. Our services range from individual casework and one-off audits to large ongoing equality capacity building projects. Our staff have expertise and experience in many aspects of equality and diversity, including equality legislative requirements and good practice, employment and staff development and data gathering and action planning. Training and Development
Equality Focus can devise and facilitate bespoke staff development activities that match the needs of your organisation, be it a one-off session focusing on a particular issue, or a longer-term programme of training that you want to run on an ongoing basis. Recent staff development delivery and design projects have included training for careers advisors on disabled student employability with the University of Southampton and training staff equality leads at Birkbeck, University of London.
Policy & Planning
Equality Focus can support you to devise, review and implement your equality and diversity strategies and policies to ensure that you go beyond equality legislative requirements to embed equality and diversity within your organisation. Equality Focus can assist with qualitative and quantitative research, target setting, positive action, consultation exercises and impact assessments. We can also offer support with compiling data for external funding agencies and provide guidance on management action to be taken to be taken to implement good practice. Recent projects in this area have included devising disability guidance for staff and students at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
Audits and Surveys
Equality Focus can support you to understand the specific issues and concerns that your staff or students may have by conducting audits, surveys, focus groups and one-to-one interviews. We can then work with you to develop solutions to address these findings and ensure good practice going forward. Recent projects have involved a project with the University of Southampton on the employment and career development of its disabled students and graduates.
We can also support you in reviewing the outcomes of any events, data collection findings, and audit or survey results and developing an appropriate action plan to move forward.

Equality Focus can provide a confidential casework service to individual members of staff to provide a tailored package of support. We have worked with individuals with disability to support them in arranging their entitlements and support for their needs and have worked to support other individuals who feel they have been subjected to harassment in the workplace or who have a complaint they would like to raise.
