What is tutoring?

Tutors work collaboratively with students to support them to build on their existing strengths, strategies and preferences to develop confidence in their abilities as an autonomous learner and empower them to maximise their opportunities for success.
Tutors
Our tutors have the professional qualifications, skills and experience to support students with a range of specific learning needs. All Equality Focus tutors have a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) qualification that carries British Dyslexia Association (BDA) accreditation and are members of a professional body, such as PATOSS or ADSHE.
All our tutors working with DSA students are fully compliant with DSA-QAG Quality Assurance Framework requirements, are fully insured and appropriately trained in safeguarding and health and safety. Equality Focus regularly reviews the work of its tutors to ensure that high levels of professionalism and quality are maintained. Our tutors engage in regular continuing professional development activities and peer supervision to ensure their own ongoing development.

What our students say about our tutors
My tutor is excellent and pushed me to achieve my end goals. |
The support from my tutor has been massively beneficial, she has really helped me in the structuring of, and spelling and grammar within, my essays. Also giving me different techniques to help me with me organisation and planning in regards to my course work has been invaluable. |
My tutor is really good. She takes her time to explain things to me and, to me, this is very important. |
